DBS Guide (formerly CRB)
Reducing Risk and DBS
The whole ethos of timebanking revolves around building trust within communities and reciprocal exchange of skills. However, whilst doing so a broker’s primary concern must include safeguarding of their members. There are a number of ways in which we can reduce risks in timebanking – please see the Safe Exchanges Guidance below. Should members be supervising, training or caring for vulnerable adults or children on a regular basis we are able to process DBS (formerly CRB) disclosures. Please be aware that there has been changes in valid identity documents, and the routes that you must follow to obtain a check.
Enhanced checks (including barred list checks) may be undertaken under much more stringent guidelines. The broker is responsible for ensuring that they are following these when applying for checks.
